The 35th annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony is the largest and one of the most festive events in Portland. In celebration of the holiday spirit, it will feature a giant tree that is decked in 14,000 colorful lights right in the heart of downtown PDX.

The event is expected to see more than 25,000 Portlanders, who will all sing along to music, which will be led by Thomas Lauderdale, members of Pink Martini, as well as other local musicians and chorale singers.
Mayor Wheeler, Santa Claus, and other dignitaries of the city of Portland will then “flip the switch” and illuminate the giant fir tree. The event will also feature strobe lights.
