Philippe Couillard and his Liberal government want seniors and students to ride free public transit all over the province.
The free fares would become available to full-time students, regardless of their age, and to seniors over the age of 65. The free fares would be available all over Quebec and the party’s promise would cost an estimated $200 million a year.

If re-elected, the party would also develop an app and smart card system, like the Opus card in use by the STM, that would be accepted by every public transit network across the province.

The Liberals are also lobbying to expand the upcoming rapid transit light-rail train into Quebec City and Mirabel.
