Quebec reports 165 additional coronavirus deaths, 408 new cases

The Government of Quebec reported an additional 165 COVID-19-related casualties on Sunday, May 31, bringing the total death toll in the province to 4,641.

The province also reported 408 new confirmed known cases of coronavirus, according to the Santé Quebec website, bringing the total number of cases to 51,059.

As well, there are 1,198 hospitalizations, 171 of which are in intensive care (ICU).

So far, 16,346 people are known to have recovered from their coronavirus infection in Quebec.

Quebec remains the province most heavily affected by coronavirus, but it’s trying to reopen gradually. Students outside of Montreal have returned to class already, and the province is looking to open hairdressing shops, nail salons, and tattoo parlours next month.
