Quebec confirms 76 more coronavirus deaths as cases pass 50,500

The Quebec government revealed that the province’s COVID-19-related death toll has reached 4,439, after announcing 76 more deaths since Friday afternoon.

There are a reported 419 new known cases of the coronavirus, according to the Santé Quebec website. That brings the confirmed total to 50,651 known cases with 1,197 hospitalizations, 167 of whom are in the ICU.

So far, 14,600 people are known to have recovered from their coronavirus infection.

The data had been reported by hospitals and public health officials as of Saturday, May 30, at 11 am.

Canada’s coronavirus death toll now totals 6,979.
