The body of an Osheaga concert-goer was found in the St.Lawrence River on Monday and Montreal Police have confirmed that it is of 18-year-old man, Collins Obiagboso.
The Ottawa-native travelled to Montreal in the last few days of July to attend the music festival on August 3.
He attended Osheaga with a few friends and hadn’t been seen since late Friday night when the festival got too hectic and crowded.
Obiagboso and his friends had agreed to keep their wallets and cell phones at their rented AirBnB unit in order to avoid it getting stolen.
When neither of us his friends had heard from him, they reported him missing to the SPVM. Longueuil Police discovered Obiagboso’s body on Monday, floating in the St. Lawrence River.
A spokesperson on behalf of the SPVM’s media relations confirmed with Daily Hive that Obiagboso’s identity was confirmed on Tuesday evening. The SPVM said there were no signs of violence on the body and an autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death.
