From a city-wide food festival, some music, and a LEGO convention, here are a few things worthy of checking out in Montreal this weekend, November 8 to 10, as we officially cross off the first full week of the new month.

Do you have what it takes to try a multitude of Montreal restaurants in two weeks?

Because MTLàTABLE is a giant city-wide food festival where you can discover 150 restaurants that will be offering table d’hôte dinner menus at pretty nifty prices ($23, $33 or $43) as well as a $17 brunch in some restaurants.

Comedy at the Art Loft

Comedy at the Art Loft continues to be one of the city’s hottest comedy shows and this weekend’s edition, the 149th episode, looks to keep the trend going.

Art Loft is the city’s only weekly bilingual show and is run out of a private loft on rue Saint-Laurent and is usually packed with people. It feels like a college party, except a comedian is slinging jokes into a microphone.

This week’s show features the very funny Joel Edminston as the headliner and the show is hosted by Quinn McMorrow and features the likes of Jean-Michel Elie, Joze Piranian, Nathan Teixeira, Dave MacInnis, and Virginie Fortin.

The venue features a DJ and snacks. BYOB and it’s 420 friendly (very 420 friendly).

Montreal Tiny House Workshop

The Montreal Tiny House workshop offers a little something for fans of, you guessed it, tiny houses.

From the skilled craftsman to someone who has never picked up a hammer, guests will be directly involved in a number of hands-on exercises designed to inspire you to build your own tiny home.

“This is your chance to learn about everything from tiny house design ideas and popular builds to the step-by-step construction methods to make your dream home a reality,” says the workshop’s Facebook page.

Blink 182 Tribute – La Ptite Grenouille

La Ptite Grenouille is devoting an entire night to the popular punk-rock band, Blink 182, as a variety of bands will hit the stage to perform covers of classic Blink tunes.

LEGO Vancouver 2018 Candidates

A big celebration of little toys is on its way to Saint-Hyacinthe this weekend as a LEGO festival, Brickomanie, snaps its way towards Montreal.

The little block-toy festival will feature demonstrations, building competitions, LEGO history, and sales of the world-famous toy. Brickomonie will also bring some of the most creative LEGO builders from across the province to Saint-Hyacinthe, located about 70 km from the island.

More than 75 exhibitors will be on-site, sharing their amazing creations as well as the building of a giant LEGO mosaic which will be completed in time for the festival’s closing ceremonies on Sunday.

The Cinematic Orchestra – Corona Theatre


The Cinematic Orchestra is a British nu jazz and electronic music group, created in 1999. They’ll be performing their gorgeous tunes on Saturday at the timeless Corona Theatre.

You escaped October’s spookiness, now try to get out of an escape room.

Try your luck at escaping from a prison, military facility, lost temple, or laboratory. Each mission is reserved solely for your group and you’re given a walkie-talkie in case you need hints/get scared.

Michael Wayne Atha, better known by his stage name Yelawolf, is an American rapper, singer, and songwriter. Atha embarked on his career in 2005, releasing independent solo material until he hit it big a few years ago.

He’s in Montreal as part of a North American tour at the timeless Theatre Corona.
