Montreal expected to get hit with up to 23 cm of snow this weekend

As if today’s ‘feels like’ temperature of -29°C doesn’t signify enough winter, Montreal can expect up to 23 cm of snow this weekend as well.

According to The Weather Network, up to 20 cm of snow is expected to fall on Saturday before another 3 cm is forecasted for Sunday.

Blowing snow and heavy winds are expected to “be an issue” for all of Quebec, notes the weather agency, and reduce visibility could make for “hazardous travelling.”

Montreal is also under a Special Weather Statement from Environment Canada, which also alerts of “difficult” driving conditions.

Although Quebec won’t deal with the same cold as the Prairies, The Weather Network says “daytime highs will take a dip into the mid-to-upper minus teens and will remain frigid through the weekend. Extreme cold warnings are in place for central and eastern areas of the province.”

While Sunday is expected to warm up a tad, temperatures are forecasted to feel like the near -20s to start off next week.
