The 40th edition of theĀ Montreal International Jazz Festival is starting to take shape as a slew of musical guests have been added to this summer’s lineup.
In a series of tweets, organizers announced that alt-J, Bahamas, Alan Parsons, Courtney Barnett, Bears of Legend, and Thus Owls will be joining this summer’s festivities.

This year’s Jazz Fest, the world’s biggest jazz music festival, spans from June 27 to July 6 and will host over 150 shows, the majority of which are free outdoor concerts.

The festival takes place at over 20 different venues, both indoor and outdoor, located around the Quartier des Spectacles and will welcome more than 2 million spectators, as it does every year.
For its 40th anniversary, Jazz Fest is set to expand into Verdun this summer, for the first time ever.
Going forward,Ā Jazz Fest will promote a different area every year for the next five years starting this summer, allowing all of Montreal to benefit from a cultural, economic, and tourist standpoint.
