Happy Wednesday, Montreal!

The good news: It’s halfway through the workweek. The better news: That onslaught of snow never happened. As you set your sails to the latter half of the week, here are five things worthy of checking out in the city today, November 28.

An Evening With The Clintons

There’s a big power couple coming to Montreal today and it isn’t Beyonce and Jay-Z.

Spend an evening with Bill and Hillary Clinton.

The Clintons announced that they will visit four cities in 2018 and nine in 2019 across North America in a series of conversations dubbed “An Evening with President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton.”

The tour will feature joint on stage conversations with the two leaders, sharing stories and inspiring anecdotes that shaped their historic careers in the public service, while also discussing a variety of issues of today and the future.

Where: Bell Centre, 1909 avenue des Canadiens de Montreal

Drunk ‘Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion’ – A Live Read

From the people that brought the wildly successful (and sloppy) “Drunk Mean Girls” and “Drunk Bridesmaids” comes the third installment of Drunk Live Reads, “Drunk Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion.”

The live reading of the 1997 film (starring Mira Sorvino and Lisa Kudrow), follows two friends 10 years after their high school graduation who set out to accomplish what they didn’t get to in high school.

All proceeds from tonight’s event will be donated to the Montreal Sexual Assault Centre.

Dollar Cinema

Dollar Cinema is an absolute gem of a find. They show second-run movies at a two-screen venue (only in English). It’s great for a date or for people who want to watch a relatively new movie on the big screen instead of Netflix. They’re currently highlighted by Halloween, The Predator, The Sisters Brother, Crazy Rich Asians, Christopher Robins, and The Incredibles II. Check out the website for complete listing.

Oh yeah, snacks are $1.

Shane Murphy at Honey Martin Pub

Deal with the snow at one of the coziest pubs in Montreal to the tunes of Shane Murphy.

He performed at Jazz Fest over the summer and he’s back to his regular Wednesday gig in NDG. He’s silky smooth on the guitar and has a soothing and hip voice. He plays covers and original pieces. Considering it’s free entrance to watch him, it’s an absolute steal.

Time: Honey Martin Pub opens at 3 pm, Shane Murphy starts at 10 pm and goes until 3 am
