
The numbers are officially in and according to Election Montreal, 485,345 electors, or 42.46% of registered voters, cast their vote in the November 5 Montreal municipal election.
Voter turnout appeared to be sluggish throughout the day.

By 4 pm yesterday, Election Montreal reported that only 31.59% of electors had exercised their right to vote.
This year’s voter turnout was 0.86% lower than 2013 when 43.32% of eligible voters cast their ballots.

Projet Montreal’s Valerie Plante won the election with 243,242 votes. Incumbent mayor Denis Coderre received 215,104.
