May is set to be a great month for all things cocktails.

Invasion Cocktail will be making its much-anticipated return to Montreal and Quebec City from Monday, May 14 to Sunday, May 20.

Returning for its fifth year, the cocktail festival will be drawing huge crowds with more than 10,000 visitors expected for the event, many of whom are from outside the province.

For those unfamiliar with the festivities, Invasion Cocktail is a week-long festival where more than 30 bars and restaurants craft and present new and innovative cocktails, as well as old favourites. More than 250 cocktails will be concocted by Quebec’s elite bartenders and by the hottest spots around.

Admission to the participating bars and restaurants is free, as well as a festival passport that gives participants discounted prices on featured cocktails throughout the entire week.

Some of the well-known bars and restaurants participating in the festival include Bar Palco, Bootlegger, L’Gros Luxe, La Belle & La Boeuf, Distillery No 1, No, 2, and No 3, Hideout, Lab, and Nacarat, to name a few.

Part of the new attractions for Invasion’s 2018 festival will be an ‘Invasion Cocktail Headquarters’ in Montreal. The pop-up destination will be open from Thursday, May 17 to Friday, May 18 and feature live DJs, cocktail workshops, activities, and cocktails averaging at $4.

Opening night for the festival takes place in Quebec on Tuesday, May 15 at Ateliers et Saveurs from 6 pm to 9 pm. The evening will feature the festival’s signature cocktails, the chance to meet professional bartenders, and samplings of brand new local spirts.

Passports for the festival, as well as further details on individual events, can be found on the Invasion Cocktail website.
