Father Tim Pelc, a priest in Detroit, Michigan, is getting creative with his blessings during these times of physical distancing.

Images of Pelc have resurfaced online recently and have gone viral, showing him issuing blessings with Holy Water by spraying people with a water gun from a safe distance.

The images were initially captured back in April, when Pelc was blessing Easter foods, but have seen a resurgence in popularity on Reddit and Twitter. Now, Pelc has become a meme.

“It’s an internet law: once a post or photo about you goes viral, you must end up in a meme,” Pelc’s parish, St. Ambrose Parish, wrote on its Facebook page. “Now it’s happened to Fr. Tim, who wowed the world with his unique holy water squirt gun, blessing food on Holy Saturday. Now he stars in some pretty clever memes, found on Reddit and Imgur.”

Users across social media have responded in delight to Father Pelc, even going as far as to create their own memes.
