To assist couples in finding the ultimate post-wedding spots, U.S. News & World Report researched expert opinions, privacy, location reputation, couple-friendly activities, and an abundance of traveller votes to compile a definitive list of the best honeymoon destinations

The location to land the number one spot overall was St. Lucia, with its beautiful Caribbean beaches and luscious mountains sprinkled with an abundance of boutique resorts.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, there was an overarching theme of warm destinations on the list with Bora Bora, Fiji, the Amalfi Coast, and Maui rounding out the top five.

It seems as though people associate warm temperatures and crisp, blue waters with peace and tranquillity.

Tahiti, Kauai, Santorini, Bali, and Cinque Terre complete the overall top 10.

Kauai took home the Best Honeymoon Destination in the United States while Florence, Italy claimed the title of Best Honeymoon Destination in Europe.

Although St. Lucia was the number one on the list in general, Grenada was dubbed the Best Caribbean Honeymoon Destination, specifically.
