It's expected to be a little bit warmer in Edmonton this week

After a week of snow and temperatures well below zero, things are expected to warm up a bit in Edmonton this week — depending on what you call “warm.”

According to Environment Canada, this week Edmonton can expect to see a few days with temperatures above 0°C, and maybe even a short break from the snow — which could also mean better road conditions.

This week, there were over 400 accidents around Edmonton reported over the weekend, so maybe, a break from the snow is a good thing.

While there is a 60% chance of flurries Thursday, the rest of the week looks to be in the clear, with above zero temperatures expected Friday, and some sun to finish off the weekend and start off next week.

The week’s low temperature will be Saturday when it’s 4°C and cloudy, and the week’s high is expected to be 3°C today and Friday.

Given that last week’s temperatures were double digits below zero on some days, we will take the slight warm up in temperature, before a white Christmas is expected to hit the city next week.
