A town west of Edmonton is getting a new 102-unit apartment building
A new residential development is coming to Stony Plain, bringing 102 new homes to the town west of Edmonton.
The Eclipse will be a three-storey apartment building with 102 residential units. The project is being developed by Josan Properties, planned for the southwest corner of Stony Plain.

The building will offer one-, two-, and three-bedroom units, as well as a guest suite, fitness centre and tenant lounge, plus access to an outdoor skating rink, walking paths, and connectivity to Genesis Lakes.
A groundbreaking ceremony for the project was held on Sept. 16, with construction expected to run from September 2026 through 2028.

Construction is underway on the Town’s new recreation centre, which will feature community spaces, a walking and running track, a turf field, two multi-purpose sports courts, pickleball courts, a six-sheet curling facility, and a concession. The new rec centre is on track to open in late 2026.
The town will also become home to a dedicated pickleball facility, set to open next spring. Parkland Pickleheads says its upcoming facility in the North Park area will include 28 outdoor courts, including 24 in Stony Plain, alongside a 14-court indoor facility. The club has described the project as Canada’s largest pickleball facility.
Construction on a new Costco in Stony Plain is also set to begin shortly, with a Summer 2027 opening date being eyed.
Early details about the new location, which will sit on a 20-acre parcel of land, include a gas bar and liquor store, and around 1,000 parking stalls.
