Nearly 100,000-square-foot building popping up east of Edmonton

A new industrial building is in the works just east of Edmonton, with a nearly 100,000-square-foot facility being built in Sherwood Park.
The building will be called the Acuren Hub, and according to Strathcona County, York Construction will have a hand in its development.
Acuren is a leading provider of testing, inspection, and certification (TIC) services across North America.

The site will hold a 99,700-square-foot structural precast building situated on 8.96 acres of prime industrial land. The facility’s design features extensive glazing and distinctive architectural elements, creating a modern aesthetic that will surely look snazzy.
Once complete, the building will serve as a hub for Acuren’s integrated solutions, supporting critical industries with advanced inspection, engineering, lab testing, and rope access services.
According to the Alberta Major Projects website, its schedule stretches from this year into 2027, with no estimated cost available.
It’s a busy time for major developments around Edmonton. A sprawling development is in the works for a city just west of YEG, which is set to include numerous apartment buildings and a retail plaza.
