As we look ahead to 2026, so many Edmonton neighbourhoods stand out as having their own unique blend of charm, convenience, and community, and it has us daydreaming of places we’d like to call home.

From bustling urban locations to tranquil but charming spots in the suburbs, here are 10 Edmonton neighbourhoods we’d want to move to in 2026.

Ritchie

With spots like Ritchie Market and Happy Beer Street only continuing to blossom, 2026 looks set to be a great year for the charming inner-city community of Ritchie. The neighbourhood is full of schools, tree-lined streets, historic homes, and just enough density to feel lively. On top of that, its close access to shopping and transit is a bonus.

In 2026, we’re looking for ways to slow down and go with the flow, and what better way to do that than floating away on a paddleboard? A neighbourhood like Summerside, with its own private lake, or any other Edmonton community that comes with perks and amenities, is exactly the kind of place we could get used to this year.

Brander Gardens

Scandinave Group

Keeping on our point about perks, we’re eying Brander Gardens, because in a few short years, this neighbourhood is set to be extra popular with the addition of the Scandinave Spa. On top of that, there’s no shortage of nature and river access nearby, making it the perfect place if you’re looking for a laid-back, suburban vibe with easy vehicle access to city amenities.

Castle Downs

We love the Castle Downs area because it serves as the unofficial hub of northwest Edmonton. The neighbourhood is packed with a huge variety of parks, diverse grocery stores, and fantastic family-owned restaurants, from Ouzo to Castle Bake and so much more.

Highlands

Highlands is such a unique part of Edmonton and one neighbourhood we’d love to move to in 2026. It has so much charm, with its historic buildings, easy access to the river valley, and beautiful homes like the Magrath Mansion. The tree-lined streets make it feel extra cozy, and there are so many great local restaurants and shops to explore.

We love the tight-knit community feel of Alberta Avenue and how close it is to festivals like Deep Freeze and the Kaliedo Family Arts Festival. With so many great restaurants, cafes, and community projects, we’d love to call it home in 2026!

Old Strathcona

One of Edmonton’s most historic and well-known neighbourhoods, this area is filled to the brim with art, eclectic shops and boutiques, restaurants, nightlife, theatres, festivals, and so much more. It’s walkable and bikeable, and if you get around by car, major routes make it easy to access other parts of Edmonton from this vibrant neighbourhood.

Located just to the west of downtown is the lively and vibrant community of wîhkwêntôwin. With a densely populated area and many high-rise residential buildings, this neighbourhood is within walking distance of shopping, dining, and stunning river valley views.

Inglewood

Located just north of Westmount, Inglewood is a neighbourhood we’re eyeing for 2026. With easy access to transit, great shops just south on 124th Street, and older, affordable homes, we wouldn’t be surprised if others are thinking the same thing!

Cloverdale

Finally, coming back to our point about perks, Cloverdale is high on our radar thanks to the benefits of its community league membership, including access to Folk Fest passes. On top of that, there is so much to love about this little pocket of Edmonton, from the Muttart Conservatory and nearby LRT stop that takes you straight downtown to easy access to river valley trails, bridges, and beyond.
