The Edmonton Oilers are gearing up to play for the Stanley Cup, and they’ve shown off the lineup that is expected to help them achieve it.
During the team’s first skate since advancing to the Stanley Cup Final last week, the Oilers took to the Rogers Place ice on Sunday morning. It was a full skate, and head coach Kris Knoblauch did not shy away from lines rushes.
It was more or less the same group that helped eliminate the Dallas Stars in Game 5 of the Western Conference Final, though one additional change is expected to be made. OilersTV’s Tony Brar shared the full lineup on social media.

Connor Brown was skating on the fifth line still, following an injury sustained last playoff round, but both he and Knoblauch confirmed that he is expected to return to the lineup in time for Game 1. When that happens, it’s a safe bet that he could replace Viktor Arvidsson on the fourth line, who came in to replace Brown when he was injured.
With Zach Hyman expected to miss the final, Corey Perry remains in his spot on the top line beside Connor McDavid and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins. Leon Draisaitl will continue to pivot the second line alongside Evander Kane and Kasperi Kapanen.
After scoring his first-ever playoff goal, Jeff Skinner is staying on the third line with Adam Henrique and Trent Frederic. Derek Ryan and Max Jones were the extra skaters and are not expected to start the series in the lineup.
On the blueline, Mattias Ekholm and Evan Bouchard remain the Oilers’ top pair going into the final. Darnell Nurse and Brett Kulak are listed as the second pair, while Jake Walman and John Klingberg rounded things out.
It’s Stuart Skinner’s net heading into the Stanley Cup Final as he is riding a hot streak that saw him put up a .924 save percentage against the Stars. The Edmonton native posted a .909 SV% over seven games in last year’s final against the Florida Panthers.
