Good news, Costco lovers: the wholesale giant just brought a new type of warehouse to Alberta.

Opening on Tuesday, April 6, the new Costco Business Centre in Edmonton is the first of its kind in western Canada.

Costco Business Centres aim to meet business owners’ needs by offering unique products, large-format sizes, next-day delivery, and earlier, more convenient shopping hours.

Costco Business Centres offer the same great value as the traditional warehouse stores, but shoppers will find thousands of items that are not available at other locations.

In fact, over 70% of the Costco Business Centre product offerings can’t be found at regular Costco Warehouses. They are targeted to meet the needs of businesses of all sizes, including restaurants, grocery stores, convenience stores, and offices.

The best part is that, while these stores are designed to make business owners’ lives easier, anyone with a Costco membership is welcome to shop at the Business Centres.

That means you can browse the aisles and check out products not available anywhere else, including 16-litre canola oil, flours and sugars in formats up to 25 kilograms, 36-kilogram Parmigiano wheels, 10-kilogram jars of peanut butter, and 18.9-litre bottles of maple syrup.

Among the 3,200 high-quality items available at the Edmonton Costco Business Centre are commercial meat slicers, mixers, and food processors. Other exclusive items include bulk food items, commercial kitchen wares and cleaning products, office furniture, and coffee supplies.

“Costco members will find our product offering to be unique while always offering great value,” said Tom Benko, Warehouse Manager of the new location.

“This convenient and spacious location will present a vastly different selection of business merchandise – at prices that only Costco Wholesale can offer and with the added bonus of white-glove, next-business-day delivery service.”

The 127,000-sq-ft facility, located at 10310 186th Street NW in west Edmonton, joins seven regular Costco Warehouse stores in the city.

The new location has created 140 local jobs and brings unprecedented convenience for the city’s business owners.

With business-friendly hours of Monday to Saturday from 7 am to 6 pm, and Sunday from 9 am to 6 pm, business owners can shop in-store or online during the hours that best fit their schedules.

This is the fourth Costco Business Centre location in Canada, with a fifth store slated to open this week in St. Catharine’s, Ontario, on April 8.
