Lauren Kyle McDavid, wife of Connor McDavid, shares more about her stylish new Edmonton bar

There’s been a buzz in Edmonton since Lauren Kyle McDavid teased her latest exciting ventures.
Last month, Kyle McDavid revealed she had two new projects in the pipeline: Trove Living, a curated furniture showroom, and Bar Trove.
The wife of Oilers Captain Connor McDavid already has her own interior design business and apparel company. Still, Kyle McDavid and her business partner, Brittany Schulz, told Dished they were passionate about creating a space that brings people together.
“Bar Trove felt like a natural extension of Trove Living – giving people a place to gather, experience beautiful design, and enjoy incredible food and drinks in a curated setting,” the pair told Dished.
When Kyle McDavid announced the projects, many Edmontonians were thrilled that Bar Trove would open up in the historic Canada Permanent Building at 10126 100th Street NW.

The central location and unique character were huge draws for Kyle McDavid and Schulz, as well as the “rich architectural history” of the building, which dates back to 1909.
“The space itself tells a story, and we wanted to build on that by creating an intimate, elevated experience within it,” they added.
As for the interior, think of stepping into an intimate 40-seat bar in London or Paris with a “lively, welcoming energy.”
Of course, being a bar, food and drink are just as important as the ambiance, and Kyle McDavid and Schulz are focusing on quality and craftsmanship across the board.
“The drink menu will highlight thoughtfully curated cocktails, a selection of natural wines, and unique spirits, emphasizing fresh, seasonal ingredients,” they explained.
To complement its beverage offerings, Bar Trove will serve a “small, refined menu” of bites and shareable plates, including classics such as oysters and caviar.
Edmonton will have to wait just a little bit longer for a glimpse of the space, which is slated to open in Spring 2025, but we can’t wait!
