We visited one of Edmonton’s most popular cafes — and we get why it stands out

There is no question about it. Edmonton is blessed with an abundance of cafes and study spots to hit up around the city, all with their own specialty drinks and fresh pastries.
Whether it be north or south of the river, there’s bound to be a spot to suit your taste.
This cafe first opened in 2022, and quickly gained a following of loyal patrons who loved its vibrant vibes, community connection, and delicious menu, so we wanted to check it out for ourselves.
Inside the restaurant

Beyond the construction in Stadium Yards lies Felice Cafe. Bright, open and inviting, Felice beckons customers in with their large windows and comforting energy.
Once you step inside, it’s hard not to be enamoured. Filled to the brim with a variety of plants and greens, the air inside Felice is fresh, and the scent of their various pastries and delicacies begins to overwhelm in the best way.
The open-concept two-floor design works well in their favour. The abundance of seating space on the main floor and up the stairs to the second is more than enough to house the busy atmosphere of the urban village it’s located in.
Bringing in the best from around the city and an emphasis on supporting the community, Felice not only acts as a cafe with coffee and items from local bakers and chefs but also as a market for local artisans to showcase their goods and products. In the back of the establishment, you can browse through soaps, jewelry, and other unique gifts.
No worries if you have any trouble, as the staff is extremely kind and welcoming, and are more than ready to help customers through their medium-sized menu and point you in the right direction.
An assortment of treats

For beverages, the menu offers various coffees, teas, and even alcoholic beverages like beer, wine, or a gin and tonic, with prices starting at $3 for drip coffee and going up to around $10 for boozy items. On top of their regular menu, Felice also serves featured drinks, which they change regularly.
When we visited, the featured drinks were the Strawberry Espresso Tonic, Strawberry Matcha, and Strawberry Basil Lemonade.
We tried the Strawberry Basil Lemonade, garnished with a fresh sprig of basil. Lemonade is one of the classic summer drinks, and Felice does an excellent job combining the strawberry, lemon and basil to formulate a refreshing and tangy beverage. Offering sizes in small, medium, and large, we opted for a medium, which was the perfect size and served in a cute mason jar.

In terms of food, Felice offers both breakfast and lunch dishes as well as smaller snacks and treats starting at as low as $2.25. They have an assortment of bagels, a variety of different flavoured macarons and several types of pastries to choose from (which can all be warmed upon request).
We tried the Blueberry Danish and Plain Croissant, recommended by the barista. Sweet as can be, the danish is unbelievable, from the pastry texture to the creamy filling. The croissant takes the cake, however, perfectly buttery and warm from the oven. It is airy on the inside and has the perfect flaky texture everyone loves.
This cafe has been a community staple for a couple of years, and it is crystal clear why. From the atmosphere to the service to the food, Felice Cafe is a must-visit to anyone looking for an easy-going cafe venture.
Felice is currently open every day. They open 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Fridays, and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.
