Stargaze in a national park just outside of Edmonton

Look up! A stargazing event in a national park just outside of Edmonton is promising a beautiful escape to the galaxy starting this weekend.

Gateway to the stars at Elk Island National Park kicks off on September 17, offering the perfect place to experience the stars and planets above.

Registration for the event is required and is managed on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Visitors are asked to contact the park on either day by sending an email or leaving a message and they will get back to you on the next booking day.

Gateway to the stars will run on September 17, 18, 24, 25 and October 1, 2, 8, 9, 15, 16, 22, 23, 29 and 30.

Tickets cost $11.70, on top of a valid park pass to get into Elk Island National Park.

So drive east of Edmonton to Elk Island National Park, relax, and immerse yourself in the wonders of the galaxy.
