As we look ahead to 2025, so many Edmonton neighbourhoods stand out as the perfect blend of charm, convenience, and community, with each one offering something special that makes it hard not to imagine calling it home.
From bustling urban locations to tranquil but charming spots in the suburbs, here are 10 Edmonton neighbourhoods we’d want to move to in 2025.
Bonnie Doon

One of our favourite neighbourhoods in Edmonton — and one we’d like to move to this year — is Bonnie Doon. It’s a quiet area close to everything you need, with great pubs, restaurants, shops, and easy access to the Mill Creek Ravine. We’re also really into the liminal charm of the Bonnie Doon Mall, and the nearby LRT station makes getting around the city super easy.
Westmount

The Westmount/124th Street area is one of the coolest neighbourhoods in Canada, according to The Globe and Mail, and we can see why. It has everything, from a huge market to fantastic restaurants, art galleries, scenic views along the Victoria Promenade, great stores, and bakeries. There’s always something going on, no matter the time of year. Plus, the All is Bright festival lights up the area when winter rolls around.
Terwillegar

Located in southwest Edmonton, Terwillegar is far enough from the hustle and bustle of the city centre to offer everything you need, from shops to rec centres to libraries. It also has easy access to Terwillegar Park and the Whitemud Creek Ravine. Plus, once construction on Terwillegar Drive is complete, it will be easier to access this fantastic neighbourhood.

It has so much charm, with its historic buildings, easy access to the river valley, and beautiful homes like the Magrath Mansion. The tree-lined streets make it feel extra cozy, and there are so many great local restaurants and shops to explore.
Capilano

With outstanding access to the river valley and all the shops, restaurants, and amenities you could need within a short driving or biking distance, Capilano is like a little town in itself while still being easily accessible to the rest of Edmonton. Plus, with density-boosting initiatives occurring across the city, we think this area will only become more vibrant over the years.

It’s walkable and bikeable, and if you get around by car, major routes make it easy to access other parts of Edmonton from this vibrant neighbourhood.

Lastly, with its tree-lined streets, historic homes, and beautiful architecture at the nearby University of Alberta, Garneau easily rounds up our list of neighbourhoods we’d love to move to. We’re big fans of Garneau for all its walkability, proximity to the Metro Cinema and the fact that it is home to one of our favourite pizza spots in Edmonton.
