Edmonton is getting a new nonstop flight to this European city

Edmonton is getting a new nonstop flight to Germany next summer, adding to a growing lineup of direct international routes out of YEG.
German leisure airline Discover Airlines announced it will launch a new route between Edmonton International Airport (YEG) and Frankfurt, Germany, on June 1, 2027.
Flights will operate three times weekly, on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
“This will make Discover Airlines the only carrier to offer nonstop service from Germany to the city, an ideal gateway for exploring the Canadian Rockies,” Discover Airlines said in a news release.
The airline says the new route will complement its existing Canadian destinations of Calgary and Halifax, and give travellers more options for exploring the Canadian Rockies.
It will also open up new possibilities for road trips, the airline said, such as flying into Edmonton and returning from Calgary.
