This beloved Mexican taqueria has closed its doors in Edmonton

It’s a sad day, as an authentic Mexican taqueria in Edmonton has closed its doors.
Carne Asada Mexican Taqueria was a staple taco spot, with excellent Mexican food here in Edmonton.
It originally opened in 2023, serving up the most authentic Mexican food on Jasper Avenue, with a focus on its namesake, carne asada. Unfortunately, this past month, Carne Asada announced it would be closing its operations after serving the community for just under three years.

“From Taco Tuesdays to quick lunch breaks, late-night cravings, catering orders, and every kind word you shared—thank you,” reads the team on its website. “Your support, reviews, and recommendations turned a small taqueria into something we’ll always be proud of.”
This downtown Edmonton restaurant closed its doors just this past week, with a sudden announcement being made on its website.
This is such a shame, and a sad ending to a wonderful place on Jasper Avenue. It was once on our best taco spots in Edmonton list, and to see the place close is a travesty.
“To our guests, our team, and our neighbours on Jasper Ave: gracias por todo,” is the team’s farewell.
