Alberta has plenty of strong and successful businesses, and one company nestled in a hamlet just outside of Edmonton has landed as a top employer in Canada.

The Forbes list of Canada’s Best Employers 2026 has been revealed, and a top company headquartered in Alberta is located in a hamlet, to boot.

The business magazine partnered with Statista, a market research firm that surveys thousands of employees and analyzes data to identify the top 300 companies nationwide.

Companies must meet several benchmarks to qualify for the list, according to Forbes, including the business size, years in operation, industry, and location.

Survey responses and other factors are then evaluated using a tailored scoring method, with the highest-performing companies making the final cut.

Founded in 1966, the DCM Group in Sherwood Park, which currently holds the status of a hamlet, is in the engineering/manufacturing industry, and came in #280th place.

Its website states that it is a “privately-owned enterprise, brings together a family of trade-specific companies under one common management and ownership group” with “extensive experience in multiple industries, including oil & gas, mining & metallurgy, petrochemicals & chemicals, power generation, and commercial/institutional.”

Not only was it named a best employer, but there are also jobs with the company up for grabs across Alberta.

Other Edmonton-area companies on the Forbes list include Freson Bros. (#152), headquartered in Stony Plain; Strathcona County (#186); and Black Gold Regional Schools (#239) in Nisku.

A total of 18 companies headquartered in Calgary made the list, including Bethany Care Society (#36), Calgary Exhibition and Stampede (#55), and Bennett Jones (#72).

Université Laval topped Forbes‘ list of Canada’s Best Employers for 2026, followed by McMillan, Université de Sherbrooke, Parks Canada, and Concordia University.
