Forbes has released its list of Canada’s Best Employers for 2026, and 10 Edmonton companies made the list, with two cracking the top 100.

The business magazine partnered with Statista, a market research firm that surveys thousands of employees and analyzes data to identify the top 300 companies nationwide.

Companies must meet several benchmarks to qualify for the list, according to Forbes, including the business size, years in operation, industry, and location.

Survey responses and other factors are then evaluated using a tailored scoring method, with the highest-performing companies making the final cut.

Of the list of 300 employers, the 10 Edmonton companies to make the list were:

  • Workers’ Compensation Board of Alberta (#33)
  • The University of Alberta (#154)
  • Stantec (#108)
  • EPCOR Utilities (#137)
  • PCL Construction (#200)
  • AutoCanada (#228)
  • Armtec (#265)
  • Alberta Blue Cross (#268)
  • Covenant Health (#279)
  • ATB Financial (#287)

Two companies on the Forbes list were also highlighted in Mediacorp’s recent annual release of Canada’s Top Employers for Young People. EPCOR and PCL Construction were highlighted for their benefits, including support programs and internal courses for early-career employees, student loan assistance, and more.

Other Edmonton-area companies on the Forbes list include Freson Bros. (#152), headquartered in Stony Plain; Strathcona County (#186) and DCM Group (#280) in Sherwood Park; and Black Gold Regional Schools (#239) in Nisku.

A total of 18 companies headquartered in Calgary made the list, including Bethany Care Society (#36), Calgary Exhibition and Stampede (#55), and Bennett Jones (#72).
