Beavertails closed one of its Edmonton locations and here's what's taking its place
It looks like Beavertails has closed up shop at its Whyte Avenue location, a little more than two years after opening.
Those looking to get their hands on the iconic pastry will now have to head to the only remaining Edmonton location at West Edmonton Mall (8882 170th St. NW).
Beavertails opened on Whyte Avenue in April 2024 after a number of delays, but it appears the shop has now quietly closed.
It’s unclear exactly when the location shut its doors, but a look at Uber Eats shows it became inactive on June 24.
But it doesn’t look like the space will sit empty for long.
A sign for Bannock Broz, an Indigenous fast-food restaurant, is now posted on the storefront with a “coming soon” message.

Founded in May 2024, Bannock Broz started out as a pop-up tent before moving to a food truck in July 2024. By November, the restaurant had moved into the Enoch Recreation Centre in Enoch.
In April 2026, Bannock Broz operated as a pop-up vendor at Station Park to much fanfare, and it now appears to be making the move to a permanent location on Whyte Avenue.

The restaurant serves a range of Indigenous-inspired fast-food dishes, including bannock Philly cheesesteaks, bannock burgers, bannock donairs, traditional bannock and a selection of unique desserts.
According to Bannock Broz’s TikTok page, the restaurant is getting closer to its grand opening. An official date has yet to be announced, but we’ll keep you posted as we find out more about this new location.
