Alberta spot named one of the most underrated in the world

Alberta has plenty of natural wonders to see, and one spot was just tapped as one of the most underrated destinations in the world.
The Sydney Morning Herald, the oldest continuously published newspaper in Australia, released a roundup of the world’s most underrated destinations, and one spot in Alberta made the cut.
Jasper National Park was joined by Nova Scotia as the only two spots in Canada to be named to the list.

Jasper National Park is the largest national park in Alberta, and was established as Jasper Forest Park in 1907 before being renamed as a national park in 1930.
The Australian newspaper mentioned the devastating wildfire that roared through the park and townsite back in 2024, which destroyed hundreds of structures, adding that a vast amount of the park remains untouched with a “vast, majestic wilderness still very much alive” and ready to be enjoyed and explored.
One thing visitors to Jasper should be checking out is a new glacial plunge that just opened at the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge, which combines a trending wellness practice with exactly what makes Jasper special.
If you’re planning a visit in the summer, a hiking trail in the park was recently named one of the best in the world, and a drive to a world-famous lake with dazzling views is an absolute must-do.

Other spots to make the list include Sri Lanka, Malaysia, and Albania.
If you’re looking for more areas that just nabbed some global attention, one spot was just named a top winter destination in the world. At the same time, another was tapped as one of the best places to experience Canada’s natural beauty that’s a bit off the beaten path.
