Seafood products sold at Loblaw stores recalled over potential safety risk

Oct 7 2026, 5:11 pm

Canadians who recently bought seafood at Loblaw stores are being urged to check their freezer following a new recall.

On Tuesday, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) stated that Loblaw Companies Limited has triggered the recall of two brands of seafood products sold nationwide. The recall is due to an undeclared ingredient that could potentially cause an allergic reaction.

“SeaQuest brand Shrimp Ring with Mild Cocktail Sauce and President’s Choice brand Black Tiger Shrimp with Mild Cocktail Sauce recalled due to undeclared mustard,” reads the statement.

The recall has been categorized as a class two, which means that “there is a moderate risk that consuming the food may lead to short-term or non-life-threatening health problems.” Those who have been affected by the recall can file a report with the Government of Canada.

For more information, consumers can contact the CFIA at 1 (613) 773-2342 or information@inspection.gc.ca.

There have been several other nationwide food recalls to take note of.

A popular brand of hot pepper paste was recently recalled due to undeclared wheat. Consumers with a wheat allergy or those with celiac disease or other gluten-related disorders should not consume the products.

The So Delicious Dairy-Free Salted Caramel frozen dessert was also recalled due to the potential presence of plastic-like and gravel-like pieces.
