Canada has a brand-new Deadpool collectible, and it’s giving some serious cheeky energy because, well, it’s Deadpool.
Since Marvel’s beloved and iconic antihero is famously from Regina, Man., it’s only fitting for the Canadian icon to be immortalized in a coin.
The Royal Canadian Mint has released the Deadpool: I Heart Me coin, which weighs one ounce and is made with 99.9 per cent pure silver.

The coin features Deadpool in all his red-suited glory, looking over his shoulder and suggestively pointing at his lips. Granted, it’s not quite the same as his famous pose in front of a fire on a bearskin rug. In the background is a giant maple leaf, representing his heritage.
And Deadpool isn’t the only Canadian Marvel character getting recognition. Not to be left out, Wolverine also gets his own Who’s Next? commemorative coin. Posing in front of a maple leaf, he strikes a far more traditional and powerful superhero pose.

But flip them over, and both coins’ reverse features the same design: Wolverine’s iconic retractable claws, which Deadpool coyly traces with his finger. The design is finished with a line from the movie: “Time to give the people what they came for.”

The collectibles are encased in black felt trays and matching red boxes.

Both coins are available in silver on the Mint’s website for $259.95. But if you were hoping to use it to buy a ton of chimichangas (Deadpool’s favourite food), you’re out of luck — it has no face value, and it’s purely a collectible that’s meant to sit pretty on your shelf.

But for Marvel fans who really want to splurge, there’s also a limited-edition gold collectible coin version with Deadpool and Wolverine on either side, which retails for $2,399.95.
