It looks like a $3 Lotto 6/49 ticket turned into a life-changing win for one Canadian lottery player who’s now a brand-new multimillionaire.
A $22-million jackpot was up for grabs during the Lotto Max draw on Friday, April 4. However, no one matched the winning numbers 06, 18, 22, 40, 41, 43, 46, and bonus 04 to win the top prize. Similarly, no one won the Lotto Max second prize worth $165,056.90.
However, three people will split the third prize after they matched six of the seven numbers. Each will receive $6,113.20.
In B.C., no one won the $500,000 Lotto Max Extra prize. Similarly, in Ontario, no winners secured the Encore prize worth $1 million.
The last time someone won the jackpot was on Friday, March 28, when a lottery player from Ontario won $65 million. According to OLG, the ticket was sold in Newmarket.
The next jackpot is now $27 million, and the draw is set for Tuesday, April 8.

Unlike the Lotto Max draw, there were some big winners during the Lotto 6/49 draw on Saturday, April 5.
Although no one won the Gold Ball prize worth $42 million, someone did match the White Ball prize winning number 27966889-01 to win the $1-million prize. According to PlayNow, that winning ticket was sold in Western Canada.
The biggest winner this weekend was a lottery player from Quebec who won the $5-million Classic Draw prize after they matched all six winning numbers 02, 14, 23, 29, 39, and 42, as well as bonus 15.
The wins don’t end there.

“I am thinking of moving to B.C. for nicer weather and property on the waterfront,” said Lu.
The next Lotto 6/49 draw is set for Wednesday, April 9, and the Gold Ball prize is worth $44 million.
