$31-million Lotto Max jackpot transforms Canadian's life in an instant
Whether they know it yet or not, one Canadian just became a multimillionaire overnight following a Lotto Max jackpot win.
The recent Lotto Max draw took place on Tuesday, Sept. 23, and the winning numbers were 08, 09, 23, 30, 38, 40, and 43, with a bonus number of 41. According to PlayNow, someone matched the seven winning numbers, instantly becoming $31 million richer. The lucky ticket was sold online in B.C.

Although no one scored the second prize worth $156,668.10, 36 Canadians matched six of the seven winning numbers to win the third prize. They’ll each take home their share worth $4,351.90.
No one in B.C. won the $500,000 Lotto Max Extra prize, and similarly in Ontario, no one won the $1 million Encore prize.
The last time someone won the Lotto Max jackpot was on Sept. 5, when 14 Quebec residents shocked their small community of Basse-Côte-Nord by claiming the $50 million Lotto Max prize.
Group member Diana Griffin Blanche recalled that she was drinking coffee and checking the results the day after the draw when she discovered the life-changing news.
“Check, but I think we won $50 million!” she told her friend and store employee, Malinda Griffin.

The lucky winners had purchased a share in a Formule groupe Lotto Max ticket, hoping for a chance to win the top prize. During an event held for the winners, each one received a cheque for $3,571,428, prompting one group member to retire on the spot.
If you’re hoping to try your luck, the next Lotto Max draw will take place on Friday, Sept. 26, and the top prize is worth $10 million.
