Two besties from Ontario created a core summer memory when they won a huge lottery prize.
Mississauga resident Jennifer Kasper and Scarborough resident Susann Casasanta are celebrating after winning a $100,000 top prize with Instant Crossword Tripler.
Kasper, a retiree, and Casasanta, a library branch manager, have both been playing with the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) for a long time.
“Crossword is my favourite game,” said Casasanta. “I’ve been playing it for years. I like to take my time playing the ticket and uncovering the words.”
Solving her favourite lottery game finally paid off, blessing the two friends with their first major win.

OLG
“We were out at the cottage when Jennifer handed me our Crossword ticket,” Casasanta recalled, while visiting the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to claim their windfall. “I played it right away and realized it was a winner.”
At first, she thought they’d won $70, but after scanning the lottery ticket using the OLG app, they realized they had won $100,000.
“We both thought the app was broken!” exclaimed Casasanta. She broke the amazing news to her wife.
“She was in disbelief,” Casasanta said with a smile.
Kasper filled her sister in on the surprise. “She was so happy and just shook her head in amazement.”
Casasanta said winning the lottery is “like a breath of fresh air.” With her portion of the prize, she plans to install a wheelchair elevator in her home.
“It’s something I need, but it’s very costly. This is such good timing,” she explained.
Meanwhile, Kasper plans to pay off bills, save for the future, and have some dental work done.
The pair bought their winning lottery ticket at Buckhorn General Store on Lakehurst Road in Buckhorn.
