Lotto 6/49 player is taking home a huge second prize
There may not have been any major winners last night; however, a couple of Lotto 6/49 winners will still take home some impressive wins.
The Lotto 6/49 draw took place on Wednesday, April 9, and at the time, the Gold Ball prize was worth $44 million. Although no one won the jackpot, someone did win the guaranteed White Ball prize worth $1 million after they matched the winning number 43374399-01. According to PlayNow, the lucky ticket was sold in Ontario.
No one matched the Classic winning numbers 11, 18, 26, 35, 37, 39, and bonus 16 to win the $5-million prize. However, someone came pretty close after they matched five of the six winning numbers and the bonus number. As a result, a lottery player from Ontario is now $260,636.80 richer after winning the second prize.
After they matched five of the six numbers, 92 lottery players will split the third prize, each receiving $1,189.60.

The Lotto 6/49 Extra winning numbers were 3, 13, 73, and 91, but no one in B.C. won the $500,000 prize. Similarly, in Ontario, no one matched the Encore number 2677918 to win the $1-million prize.
The last time someone won the Lotto 6/49 jackpot was on February 5, when Thanh Lu from Edmonton, Alta. won $30 million.
“I couldn’t believe my eyes. I was screaming and woke up the household,” he recalled.
When asked what he plans to do with his winnings, Lu said he plans to relocate.
“I want to get out of here,” he laughed. “I am thinking of moving to B.C. for nicer weather and property on the waterfront.”
He also plans to donate some of his winnings to his church.
The next Lotto 6/49 draw is set for Saturday, April 12, and the Gold Ball jackpot is worth $46 million. There are now 12 balls left.
