Canadian Lotto 6/49 winner wakes up instantly $36 million richer
Every Lotto 6/49 player hopes to win the jackpot someday, but that day finally arrived for one lucky Canadian who’ll soon be celebrating after scoring a life-changing prize.
The Lotto 6/49 draw took place on Wednesday, Oct. 15, and the winning selection for the Gold Ball draw was 30367074-01, with a winner somewhere in Alberta.
The winner (or winners) with the Gold Ball number drawn netted $36 million. One player in Ontario and one in Quebec also netted nearly $79,000 after matching five of the six draw numbers as well as the bonus.

The win is hot on the heels of another hefty win in Alberta, with someone in Edmonton purchasing a winning ticket that netted them $11 million.
The next Lotto 6/49 draw is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 18, and the jackpot has been reset to $10 million.
