Canadian coworkers score a lucky SECOND big lottery win as a group

It’s been a lucky past few years for one group of Canadian coworkers who have struck major lottery wins twice this decade.

Sherwood Park, Alta., resident Karen Agate and her work friends, Larry Cooper, Terry Nyquvest, Dana Gray, Linda Weatherbee, Brad Neal, and Christine Laschuk, won $100,000 on Extra together last month.

The friends and coworkers told Lotto Spot that they have been lottery subscribers together for quite some time and say they love the ease of the online platform.

“Using Subscription Spot has made things a lot easier,” Agate said. “We don’t have to worry about checking tickets or following up — we get notifications whenever we win!”

This isn’t the first win for the group; they took home over $100,000 in 2021 and say they plan to continue playing together.

Agate said this latest win on Extra had the group feeling very excited.

“I received an email [from Subscription Spot] and I checked my family’s group account first and saw that we didn’t win anything,” said Agate while speaking with Lotto Spot. “Then I checked the work subscription and saw how much we had won! I couldn’t believe it!”

Agate said she immediately contacted her coworkers with the good news.

“They were all so excited and talking in the background when I got the call from Western Canada Lottery Corporation — I could hardly hear the person on the other end!” Agate added.

As for what the friends and colleagues will do with the newfound windfall, anything is up for grabs.

“I know for myself, I’ll be using the winnings to pay some bills — I think that is what most of us will be using it for!” she smiled. “I think a couple people will be tucking the money away.”

“It just feels fantastic,” she continued. “It seems to have come along at just the right time!”

The group won their prize with a Western Max and Extra ticket by matching the last six digits in the Sept. 6 Extra: 2365926.
