Canadian lottery player reveals dream purchase after winning $32 million jackpot

A drive to decompress after a busy day has helped set a Canadian lottery player and his family on the road to happiness.

Amritpal S. of Surrey, B.C., recently visited the neighbouring city of White Rock to clear his head.

During his trip, he learned that there was a lottery win in Surrey and decided to scan his ticket, which he had with him.

Amritpal soon had a lot more to think about as he had won the $32-million Gold Ball Jackpot from the Sept. 19, 2026 Lotto 6/49 draw.

“I checked my ticket in the car, using the (BCLC Lotto! Mobile) app,” shared Amritpal of the moment he realized he won the jackpot.

“I saw the amount and was confused. I read $32,000 and used other phones to check. I couldn’t process it!”

The Surrey resident, who bought the ticket from the 7-Eleven on 152 Street and 104 Avenue, immediately went home and interrupted his sister’s dinner to reveal the good news.

“My sister was the first person I told. She was speechless and started crying.”

Amritpal added that he plans on celebrating with family. And while he’s taking his time to decide what to do with his $32 million, he said that he wants to help his parents and sister.

He is also ready to purchase a house as well as “get a few cars.”

“I know I can buy anything I want, but I’m still taking some time to decide,” said Amritpal. “My dream car is a Dodge Challenger, though.

“I’m so happy! This will change my life.”

B.C. lottery players have been lucky in visits to the convenience store lately, with several life-changing wins.

Seble G. of Vancouver, B.C., was at a gas station to pick up some ice cream when she decided to check her lottery ticket for the Sept. 9, 2026 Lotto 6/49 draw.

The treat was soon forgotten because Seble won a cool $1 million from her ticket.

“I had to check again to confirm the win,” shared Seble about the moment that she won. “I didn’t believe it! I forgot why I was even in the store.”

The Vancouver resident, who bought the ticket from the Canco on Hot Springs Road in Agassiz, phoned her mom to tell her the good news once she double-checked her ticket on the self-scanner.
