It was a memorable weekend for one lottery player who’s now one of Canada’s newest millionaires after a recent Lotto 6/49 win.

The Lotto 6/49 draw took place on Saturday, Oct. 18, and although there were no winners for the $10-million Gold Ball, a lottery player from Calgary, Alta., did get lucky, according to WCLC. The winner’s $3 Lotto 6/49 ticket matched the White ball number 32126754-01, landing them a $1-million prize — definitely money well spent.

No one won the $5-million Lotto 6/49 Classic Draw prize, but two people managed to match five of the six winning numbers and the bonus number. After splitting the second prize between them, they’ll each receive $107,990.40. The lucky tickets were sold in Calgary, Alta., and Quebec.

The third prize was split between 73 lottery players, each of whom will walk away with $1,242.40.

No one in B.C. won the Lotto 6/49 Classic Draw Extra prize worth $500,000; however, someone in Ontario is now $1 million richer after they matched the Encore-winning number 2852192.

On Oct. 15, someone from Alberta won the Lotto 6/49 jackpot worth $36 million. The next draw is on Wednesday, Oct. 22, and the Gold Ball jackpot is now at $12 million.
