
A Canadian lottery player will be celebrating an impressive win, although no one won the Lotto Max or the Lotto 6/49 top prizes.
The Lotto Max draw took place on Friday, July 18, and the winning numbers were 09, 14, 33, 40, 41, 43, 44, and 04. No one matched the seven numbers to win the $24-million jackpot; however, someone did match six numbers and the bonus number to score the second prize. As a result, the winner will take home $171,144.30 after purchasing their ticket in Western Canada, according to PlayNow.
A total of 33 Canadian lottery players will split the third prize after matching six of the seven numbers, with each one receiving $5,186.20.
No one in B.C. won the Lotto Max Extra prize worth $500,000, and no one in Ontario won the $1-million Encore prize.
The last time someone won the Lotto Max jackpot was on Friday, July 11, when two lucky Quebec residents split the $70-million jackpot. Entrepreneur Jacques Deschamps and retiree Wilhelmina Van Leewen are each $35 million richer after claiming their life-changing windfall just days after their big win.
The next draw is scheduled for Tuesday, July 22, with a jackpot of $29 million.

One Lotto 6/49 lottery player will no doubt be celebrating a big win.
The draw took place on Saturday, July 19, and the Gold Ball prize was worth $24 million. No one scored the jackpot, but someone did win the White Ball prize after they matched the winning number 57463239-01. The winner scored the $1-million prize after buying their ticket in Ontario.
No one won the Classic Draw prize, worth $5 million, or the second prize, worth $184,678.90. The third prize will be split among 98 people, each receiving $791.30.
There were 25 Guaranteed prizes to be won, each worth $20,000. As for the winning tickets, six were sold in B.C., four in Western Canada, nine in Ontario, four in Quebec, and two in Atlantic Canada.
A B.C. lottery player scored the Lotto 6/49 Classic Draw prize worth $500,000. The ticket was sold in Vernon. In Ontario, no one won the $1-million Encore prize.
The last time someone won the Lotto 6/49 jackpot was on June 21 when someone from Ontario scored the $34-million jackpot. The ticket was purchased in North Bay.
The next Lotto 6/49 draw is on Wednesday, July 23, and the Gold Ball prize is worth $26 million.
