Canadian scores astounding $34 million jackpot win in weekend lottery draw

It was a memorable weekend for one Canadian lottery player, who just became an instant multimillionaire.

The Lotto Max draw took place on Friday, June 20, and the winning numbers were 14, 17, 20, 24, 42, 47, 50, and the bonus number was 25. However, no one matched the six numbers to score the $30 million top prize. Similarly, no one won the second prize worth $172,175.70. The third prize will be split between 38 lottery players, each of whom will receive $4,530.90.

No one in B.C. won the Lotto Max Extra prize worth $500,000, and similarly in Ontario, no one won the $1 million Encore prize.

The last time someone won the Lotto Max jackpot was on June 30, when a group of 15 coworkers at a car dealership in Quebec won $20 million. Group member and dealership manager Mathieu Ouellet said he was very proud that his whole team showed up on time, given the circumstances.

The next Lotto Max draw is on Tuesday, June 24, and the jackpot is at $40 million.

The Lotto 6/49 draw took place on Saturday, June 21, and it was a life-changing draw for one lucky lottery player.

According to OLG, someone matched the winning number 48771804-01 to win a massive Gold Ball prize.

“What a way to kick off summer! Another Lotto 6/49 Gold Ball jackpot was won in Ontario,” reads the release. The draw took place on Saturday, June 21, and the ticket was purchased in North Bay. As for the jackpot, the winner is now $34 million richer.

The last time someone won the Lotto 6/49 jackpot was on May 7, when another winner from Ontario won the Gold Ball prize worth $60 million. The ticket was purchased on OLG.ca.

The OLG release states, “We are waiting for that winner to claim their prize.”

The next Lotto 6/49 draw is set for Wednesday, June 25, and the Gold Ball prize is worth $10 million.
