
The weekend lottery draw brought unbelievable luck for one Canadian who scored a $1 million Lotto 6/49 prize.
The Lotto 6/49 draw took place on Saturday, Aug. 23, and at the time, the lottery jackpot was worth $44 million. Although no one won the jackpot, someone did match the winning number 25772742-05 to score the White Ball prize worth $1 million. According to PlayNow, the life-changing ticket was sold in Western Canada.
The Lotto 6/49 Classic Draw winning numbers were 03, 10, 12, 14, 36, 41, and bonus 01, but no one will be taking home the $5-million prize. However, after matching five of the six winning numbers and the bonus number, someone did score the second prize worth $209,812.60. The ticket was sold in Ontario. A total of 82 people will split the third prize, each receiving $1,074.40.
No one in B.C. won the $500,000 Classic Draw Extra Prize; however, an Ontario lottery player is now $1 million richer after they matched the Encore winning number 9989653.
The last time someone won the Lotto 6/49 prize was on June 21, when Cache Bay, Ont., residents Joe and Lise Menard won the $34-million jackpot.

The next Lotto 6/49 draw is on Aug. 27, and the top prize is worth $46 million.
The Lotto Max draw took place on Friday, Aug. 22, and the winning numbers were 05, 08, 09, 21, 22, 30, 45, and bonus 16. No one won the jackpot worth $20 million or the second prize worth $168,966.80. The third prize will be split between 50 lottery players, who’ll each take home their share worth $3,379.30.
In B.C., no one won the $500,000 Lotto Max prize, and similarly in Ontario, no one won the $1 million prize.
The last time someone won the jackpot was on Tuesday, Aug. 19, when a winner from Ontario scored a massive $75 million prize.
The next draw is on Tuesday, Aug. 26, and the jackpot is worth $25 million.
