
An Ontario man’s Lotto Max win shows that you may need to take a closer look at your emails.
Lindsay resident David Mark has $170,346.30 to make his dreams come true after winning the Lotto Max second prize in the Dec. 20, 2024, draw.
The 51-year-old has been playing with the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) on and off for the past 20 years.

He enjoys playing Lotto Max and Lotto 6/49, usually choosing whichever game has the higher jackpot. Mark uses OLG’s Quick Pick feature to make his selections and always adds Encore to his tickets.
He finally collected his first big prize with Lotto Max months later because he was suspicious of how he first received the news about the win.
āI just randomly bought this ticket one day,ā Mark recalled, while visiting the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to claim his winnings.
āAfter the draw date, I kept receiving emails from OLG telling me Iād won a prize, but I didnāt think they were real,ā he chuckled. āA few months later, a representative from OLG called me to tell me Iād won big. I was shocked and so excited.ā
Mark shared the amazing news with his wife.
“At first, she couldnāt believe it; once she did, she was very excited,ā he said.
The Lotto Max winner has important plans with his windfall ā he wants to pay off bills, add to his savings, and buy a jet ski for an upcoming trip.
āIt still doesnāt feel real!ā Mark said with a smile. āBeing a winner feels really good.ā
