Popular Amazon Canada products that have been recalled

Amazon Canada issues regular updates on product recalls and urges shoppers to check if they have any of the affected items.

“We closely monitor public recall alert websites and receive notifications from vendors and sellers,” reads the Amazon Canada website. “Upon discovering a product recall, we immediately halt the affected product offerings and promptly inform both the customers and sellers involved about the recall.”

It’s important to note that many of these products were also sold at other retailers. So far, this year’s recalls have included several battery banks, a face cream, and a popular brand of air conditioners. Shoppers are encouraged to check their homes for these products, and the complete list of affected items can be found on the Amazon Canada website.

Powerextra 4000mAh V6 Battery Replacement for Portable Vacuums

If you own a Dyson and have replaced the battery on your vacuum in the past few years, you might want to check the model number, as the battery can overheat and pose a fire risk. Consumers are urged to dispose of the Powerextra 4000mAh V6 Battery Replacement, which is compatible with Dyson V6 series vacuum cleaners DC58, DC59, DC61, DC62, Animal, DC72, DC74, SV03, SV04, SV05, and SV06. As of Jan. 8, the company, Shenzhen Haiming Electronic Commerce Co., Ltd., received six reports of fire, including reports of property damage; however, there have been no reports of injury. If you own this battery, immediately stop using it and dispose of it following municipal guidelines.

Igloo 90-Quart Flip and Tow Rolling Coolers

The risk of fingertip amputation and crushing hazards has led Health Canada to issue a recall for Igloo 90-Quart Flip & Tow Rolling Coolers. The announcement explains that the tow handle can pinch consumers’ fingertips against the cooler, potentially causing injury. As of May 7, the company has received four reports of minor injuries in Canada. Igloo is offering consumers a free replacement handle.

Dckazz Stitch and Scrump Best Friends Necklace

Health Canada recalled the Dckazz Stitch and Scrump Best Friends Necklace after discovering lead over the allowable limits. The item was sold on Amazon Canada through a foreign third-party seller. Immediately stop using the item and dispose of it following municipal guidelines.

Health Canada issued a recall of a popular beauty cream as it could be contaminated with Lactobacillus pentosus, which could pose a medical risk. The company is urging customers to contact them for a refund. Ninja Foodi Tendercrisp multi-cookers’ pressure cooker lid

Health Canada is recalling pressure cooker lids of the Ninja Foodi Temperedcrisp multi-cooker as they can be opened during use, posing a risk of burn injuries. As of April 10, SharkNinja received five reports of lids being opened during use in Canada; however, there have been no reports of injury. The affected product has a cooking chamber capacity of 6.5 quarts and features the brand name “Ninja” on the front of each unit, located on the hinged lid/heat shield. U Window Air Conditioners

Thousands of air conditioners were recalled across the country due to mould exposure that could pose risks of respiratory issues. Manufacturer GD Midea Air-Conditioning Equipment Co., Ltd. stated that as of June 3, it had received five reports of mould in window air conditioners sold in Canada, with no reports of symptoms. Affected units were sold under various brand names, including Midea, Comfort Aire, Danby, Frigidaire, Insignia, Keystone, LBG Products, Mr. Cool, Perfect Aire, and Sea Breeze. You have the option to arrange for a free repair or request a refund.

Anker Power Bank

Period sold: December 2023 to June 2025

Owners of certain types of Anker Power Banks are asked to check if they own affected models being recalled, as they may overheat and pose a fire hazard. The recalled models include Anker Power Bank A1647, Anker Zolo Power Bank A1681, and Anker Zolo Power Bank A1689. There have been no reports of injuries as of June 18, according to the company. Vega brand Organic Protein + SupergreensTM Vanilla

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) announced that it’s recalling the Vega brand Organic Protein + SupergreensTM Vanilla Flavoured Drink Mix (2 kg) due to “extraneous material.” The product, which was sold online and in Alberta, B.C., Ontario, and Quebec, is being recalled due to pieces of plastic.

Cosco 2-Step Kitchen Stool

A recall has been issued for the Cosco 2-Step Kitchen Stool due to a fall and injury hazard. According to the statement, the stool’s safety bar can detach or break while in use. Although the company hasn’t received any reports of injuries, there has been one report of a safety bar breaking. ESR HaloLock Wireless Power Bank

Number sold: 9,743 units

Health Canada is recalling the ESR HaloLock Wireless Power Bank with model numbers 2G520, 2G505B, and 2G512B, sold online on Amazon Canada and Home Depot. The lithium-ion battery is being recalled as it can overheat and pose a fire risk. As of July 29, 2025, Waymeet Limited received five reports of fire, which resulted in property damage in Canada.
