There are many things Canadians are known for — our love for hockey, poutine, Ryan Reynolds and the great outdoors, to name a few.

One characteristic that Canadians might not be the proudest of is the stereotype that we say “sorry” a lot.

Sorry, but it turns out there’s a lot of truth to this, according to a recent post in r/AskACanadian.

A Redditor asked people, “What are the strangest things Canadians apologize for?”

And over 200 hilarious comments later, the responses certainly proved the stereotype true.

Of course, there are the common situations where Canadians apologize to other people for something that doesn’t necessarily warrant an apology.
