We may be in mid-July, but that isn’t stopping scenes of winter from popping up in Alberta, with snow being captured in some areas.
The camera located at Banff Sunshine Village in Banff National Park posted a photo of a winter wonderland Thursday afternoon, showing low-hanging clouds and the ground covered in snow.
“Meanwhile on the top of Goat’s Eye… Yep, this is a LIVE shot from our webcam taken at 12:26 on Thursday, July 10th,” the ski hill posted to their Facebook page.

The chance to see some snow was brief, however, and by the afternoon hours, only a slight patch remained in a shade-covered area of the ski lift and a sliver on the machine’s roof.

Just yesterday, parts of Alberta were under threat from large hail and the chance of seeing a tornado, and now the province is seeing snowfall. You know how the saying goes in Alberta, “If you don’t like the weather, wait five minutes.”
Alberta is no stranger to summer snow, with some areas in the province seeing around 30 centimetres of snow at the start of the season last month.
Last year, Alberta also saw a “Christmas in June” event, with snowfall in some western parts of the province, including Banff, Bragg Creek, and Canmore.
