'Nemesis has been vanquished': Calgary brewery closes after eight years with epic goodbye message

Adding to a string of recent closures, a popular Calgary brewery has sadly announced it will also be closing its doors.

Zero Issue Brewing has shared that it has closed its taproom doors after eight years in the northeast.

“Nemesis has been vanquished, and now we find ourselves in a state of Cryostasis. We aimed for Infinity, but the Venom ran deep and we are now all but a Fossil, Artifact, or perhaps just a Relic Remnant in the memories of the many cherished friends we have made along the way,” it said in an Instagram post.

The spot was known for its selection of craft beers and comic book-style art, both on its cans and within its taproom. One of its most popular brews was Nemesis, a “Zero Coast” IPA.

While Zero Issue is no more (for now), the brewery added that it hopes for a revival at some point.

“One day, we hope to again find Resonance and Tranquillity, perhaps in a new Celestial space, equipped with Cloak and Dagger, or maybe just our Exosuit. For now, though, we must close this chapter and like the hero before us, announce that we are Adrift.”

The brewery also shared a heartfelt thank you to its customers who have bought its beers and visited its taproom.

“As we close our doors, we want to send a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has enjoyed the beers we brewed at Zero Issue during our eight incredible years,” it added.

Zero Issue is a spot that will be very much missed.
