A new cozy cocktail bar will open in the former location of a Calgary staple

At the very end of 2024, popular Calgary bar Cannibale announced it would be closing its doors to make way for a major rebrand. Now, we finally have an idea of what’s next.

The Bridgeland cocktail bar and barbershop, which was known for its house cocktails and snacks, was a long-standing favourite in the neighbourhood.

While many were sad to see Cannibale go, the next iteration of the space at 813 1st Ave. N.E. has been revealed: Small Bar.

The new concept is slated to open in March. While not much is known about Small Bar just yet, the spot has shared a sneak peek of its interior on Instagram.

With low lighting, wood panelling, and exposed brick, the spot looks set to be a cozy space for cocktails and beer in Bridgeland.

While more details are set to be revealed soon, including an official opening date, Small Bar looks set to be a hit with Calgarians.
