You can ski or snowboard at Mount Norquay for just $10 on December 19

If the only thing keeping you off the slopes is that new-found resolution to spend less money in 2018, we’ve got some good news for you.

Mount Norquay is choosing a special day each month when you can go skiing or snowboarding for as little as $10.

The hill’s new Cool2CarPool Day introduces a new pay structure, with each carload costing just $50 — which means that if you can fit five friends into a five-seat sedan, you’re all riding for $10. That price will drop even lower if any of your pals (or their parents) happen to drive a minivan.

Anyone who takes the free shuttle in from Banff will also get to hit the slopes for just $10, though it’s encouraged to start the day early as space is limited.

If you happen to scrounge up a bit more than a purple while hunting down cash in the couch, the mountain will also be accepting cash donations that go towards local charities within the Bow Valley and Calgary area, and $2 from every lift ticket will be automatically donated.

The next Cool2CarPool Day will be on Wednesday, December 19. If you happen to miss tomorrow’s discount you can also swing by Mount Norquay for a few inexpensive runs on January 9, February 13, March 13, and April 10.

Conditions currently show a snow base of 59 cm, a year to date snowfall of 73 cm, and 20 cm of new snow in the past seven days.

Five out of six lifts are open, along with the tube park and 18 out of 60 runs.

It’s definitely not a bad way to spend a Wednesday, but just make sure you get there early in case anyone else somehow gets the same smart idea.
