Board game tournaments, gaming celebrities, and Elijah Wood coming to Calgary Expo

The Calgary Comic and Entertainment Expo just got that much better.
There have already been many exciting announcements regarding celebrity appearances at this year’s expo, but the most recent one has caused some serious buzz.
Elijah Wood, who played Frodo Baggins in The Lord of the Rings trilogy, will be in Calgary on Saturday, April 28 and Sunday, April 29 for the Expo, and attendees will be able to get an autograph and/or a photo op with the actor — for a fee, of course.
There will also be a Spotlight on Elijah Wood event on the Sunday, which will delve into Wood’s acting history, including his time in Middle Earth.
Other recent additions include the appearance of Stephanie Harvey, a professional Counter-Strike: Global Offensive player applauded for winning five championships in the male-dominated arena.
Better known by her gaming name missharvey, she will be on hand at the Expo as an ambassador for OMEN by HP, a state-of-the-art gaming laptop.
Fans of the popular board game Settlers of Catan will be happy to hear that a Catan tournament will be held during the Expo, with the winner receiving a paid trip to Toronto for the Catan Canada Championship taking place August 30 to September 2.
Just watch out for that dastardly robber!
